  • Welcome to our home pages!
  • EKJT is a martial art that teaches modern self-defence. It relates from kyusho and tuite which means manipulation of pressure points and joints. The adversary is taken under control with the principle of minimal damage. A skilled person can of course also defend him/herself from hard attacks.
  • EKJT is a self-defense method where anathomy, acupuncture, Chinese and Western medical basics are taken into account and also the EKJT-philosophy.
  • Besides Kyusho-jitsu and tuite, takedowns, punches, kicks, wrestling and weapon techniques, using of OC gas and handcuffs are also a part of this style, and Finnish Kyusho Sparring. In this style the learning progress is marked with the beltsystem, basic course, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown and black. The teaching is based on natural body movements and reactions. EKJT is suitable for men, women and children interested in self-defence.
  • Developer of the system is Shihan Tero Laaksonen, 7th dan EKJT.

    Pressure point fighting in Finland
  • KYUSHO-JITSU, DIM MAK and ATEMI are calling names for attacking anatomically sensitive parts of the human body. Kyusho-Jitsu, one of the most secret training methods in Okinawan karate, came to Finland in 24. -25.09.1991 by way of Ilpo Jalamo, a skilled budoka in several Martial Arts styles.
  • At that time the american pressure point specialist George Dillman held a seminar in Turku for almost 200 Martial Arts students. Dillman soon came again with Small Circle Jujitsu professor Wally Jay 10th dan. In the sixties the legendary Bruce Lee trained also with Wally Jay. After this Dillman has been in Finland all in all about ten times at different locations holding seminars, the last time in Helsinki in 1998.
  • Ilpo Jalamo had acquired help from long line karateka Tommi Halsvaha 3rd dan (yuishinkai-karatejutsu and ryukyu-kempo) and Tero Laaksonen. The threesome arranged Dillmans seminars until Jalamo handed the teaching and studying in Finland to Tero Laaksonen. Laaksonen started to train kyusho-jitsu with a selected group of students. After founding the European Kyusho Jitsu Tuite it has been possible to train also on weekend seminars and now basic courses to all interested.
  • Laaksonen toured with George and Kim Dillman holding seminars in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Helsinki in 1998. Besides the Dillmans EKJT has brought to Finland several top instructors: Mark Kline, Leon Jay, Mike Solecki, Evan Pantazi and Ed Melaugh. Tero Laaksonen has trained with top Martial Arts instructors from all over the world and he has visited USA several times as a guest of the Dillmans.
  • EKJT:s Head Instructor TeroLaaksonen is a professional instructor. Laaksonen started as a Martial Arts student with yuishinkai-karatejutsu at Ilpo Jalamo´s dojo Shaolin. He considers himself lucky to have opened the "right" door, and found an instructor that suited him - Jalamo. Thanks to Jalamos broadmindedness Laaksonen has had the chance to get to know different styles of fighting and foreign instructors. Jalamo was also influential in starting the writing of the book; Kamppailijoita Dojolta, Tatamilta which tells the autobiographies of people who have brought the styles of Martial Arts to Finland. Thanks to this many of the important Martial Arts people in Finland have made acquintance of Laaksonen.
  • Tero Laaksonen has trained with Jalamo for over fifteen years and over seven years as a private student. In the early nineties Laaksonen trained with Jalamo for over five years in fitting the moves from naihanchi-katas to kyusho-techniques in sparring and wrestling style fighting. The training was in several ways ahead of the times in Finland. It is no coincidence that Dillman remembers a Jalamo-Laaksonen naihanchi-bunkai as one of the best ever. To deepen his knowledge of the human body Laaksonen studies Tratidional Chinese Medicine. With the help of his wife Esti(MD), he has also access to Western medicine.
